Repentigny, July 28, 2022.- Today, Lakay welcomes the judgment of the Human Rights Tribunal which recognizes that François Ducas was a victim of racial profiling by the police officers of the City of Repentigny.

Through this judgment, which awards $8,000 in moral damages to the plaintiff, who comes from the Black communities, "the Court sends a strong message against racial profiling in Repentigny," reacted Pierre Richard Thomas.

«"A page is turning in Repentigny," said the president of the organization that promotes Black rights, inclusion and living together.

The organization reiterates its support for victims of racial profiling and encourages the denunciation of all forms of racism in the community.

Lakay took the opportunity to commend the City for not appealing the judge's decision. In conclusion, the organization called on the City and the Police Service to implement concrete measures to combat the systemic racial profiling practiced in Repentigny.
