Who are we ?

OUR MISSION
LAKAY's mission is to defend and promote the rights and interests of members of cultural communities, particularly in the Lanaudière region, by raising their awareness of issues related to access to services, safety, socioeconomic conditions, and representation. The organization also fosters inclusion, tolerance, sharing, and intercultural understanding through the implementation of unifying activities and programs, while educating citizens about their rights, obligations, and responsibilities.

For a decade, our dedicated team has made a significant contribution to the cultural life of our community by organizing a range of events: festivals, conferences, election debates, carnivals and television programs.

The organization does not sell any products or services: our activities are offered free of charge to the public and are funded by public grants, donations, and the support of community partners. The team consists of about six paid staff members, supported by interns and volunteers.

Our Commitment

We aspire to create an environment where differences are celebrated, experiences are shared, and connections are forged across cultural boundaries. Through our initiatives, we seek to educate, inspire, and unite our community to build a more inclusive and harmonious future.
