LAKAY is a non-profit organization based in Repentigny that defends and promotes the rights and interests of members of cultural communities, particularly in the Lanaudière region. Becoming a member means supporting this work and participating in the organization's decisions.

Individual membership is free. It is aimed at volunteers, students, and citizens and residents of Lanaudière. It provides access to an expanded network of contacts and privileged information on LAKAY events and activities. Members also have the right to vote in board elections and can participate in general meetings.
