Text: Seeing Life in Color

Seeing life in color

Can we say that the world is moving forward when all it sees are our differences?

People have little tolerance for anything that is not in line with their preferences.

To them, my skin is not magnificent, but rather lacking in elegance. It is through their mistrust, hatred, and ignorance that they prove their lack of decency.

Is it because my skin is dark that I can't shine?

Like a caged bird that only wants one thing: to fly away.

To be humiliated, belittled, crushed

All these things that society forces us to endure, because our skin doesn't have the color of their purity

I have the feeling that these oppressions are leading us to depression.

I will never forget the times I was called names

Every time I said no, they didn't respect my decision.

Those times when all this pressure, persecution, and discrimination created an explosion within me

They differentiate between black and white, like evil and good.

To see life in color is to accept that I am black

It's about continuing to believe in it

Having hope that we have the power to transform all of this into a victory

So let's open our eyes to see

That we are much more than animals ready to go to the slaughterhouse

We are all equal

Even with our different skin colors

All on the same boat sailing on the waters

Ultimately, our differences are the most beautiful thing about us.
