Who are we

LAKAY (Chez Nous Média 2007) is a non-profit organization registered in Quebec, with its office located at 818 Notre-Dame Street, Suite 202, Repentigny, Quebec J5Y 1B7. Our website address is: https://lakaymedia.org.

This policy explains what personal information we collect on this site, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you can exercise. It is part of the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector of Quebec, as amended by Law 25.

Information we collect

Contact form

When you contact us via the contact form, we collect your name, email address, the subject, and the content of your message. This information is used solely to respond to you.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will keep your email address and name. Each email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Donations and memberships

Donations and memberships are processed by external providers (HubSpot and Zeffy). Your payment card information is entered directly with these providers and never passes through our servers; LAKAY does not have access to it. We only receive your name, contact information, and the amount of your contribution for donor tracking and recognition purposes.

Competitions and registration for activities

Registration for the "My Pen Against Racism and Racial Profiling" contest and for certain activities is done through external forms (Jotform, Zeffy). The information requested is limited to what is necessary for participation.

Comments

If you leave a comment, the form data, your IP address and browser ID are stored to help detect spam.

Navigation data

We use audience measurement tools to understand how the site is used (pages viewed, origin, device type). This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you.

Cookies

This website uses functional cookies necessary for its display, as well as measurement and marketing cookies subject to your consent. A banner allows you to accept, refuse, or choose by category during your first visit. You can change your preferences at any time via the "Privacy Preferences" link at the bottom of the pages.

Content embedded from other websites

Some pages include content from third parties (videos, forms, payment modules, maps). These sites may collect data about you and place their own cookies, as if you were visiting them directly.

Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. It is only shared with our technical service providers (hosting, email delivery, payment processing) to the extent necessary for their services, or when required by law. Some of these providers host data outside of Quebec, particularly in the United States.

Shelf life

Messages received through the contact form are kept for two years. Donor and member contact information is kept for seven years, in accordance with our accounting obligations. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely.

Your rights

You can request access to the information we hold about you, its correction, its deletion, or the withdrawal of your consent. Write to info@lakay.quebec; We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with the Quebec Access to Information Commission.

Security

The site is served via HTTPS and protected by an application firewall. In the event of a privacy breach posing a risk of serious harm, we will notify the individuals concerned and the Access to Information Commission.
