Launch of the "My Pen Against Racism and Racial Profiling" competition — 5th edition

LAKAY launches the 5^e edition of the competition "My pen against racism and racial profiling"«.

For the past five years, this competition has invited high school students to speak out about racism, racial profiling, immigration, identity, and living together. Each year, dozens of young voices transform a personal experience, anger, or hope into a written work. Writing becomes a form of engagement and peaceful resistance.

Important Dates

• Launch : October 2, 2026.
• Submission of texts: of November 2, 2026 to February 27, 2027.
• Awards ceremony: March 21, 2027.

Who can participate?

High school students Lanaudière and the greater Montreal area. Texts can be submitted in French or English.

Accepted forms

Poem, slam, story, or argumentative text. The text must be original, unpublished and personal, of a maximum of two pages.

Price

For information purposes — the 4th^e This edition offered six prizes, for a total of 2,500 $:

• 1^er price of the 1^er cycle: 500 $
• 2^e price of the 1^er cycle: 250 $
• 1^er price of the 2^e cycle: 500 $
• 2^e price of the 2^e cycle: 250 $
• "People's Choice" Award: 500 $
• Prize for best English-language text: 500 $

The prices of the 5^e The edition, as well as the theme, are yet to be confirmed and will be announced on the page from the 2027 edition.
