LAKAY also congratulates the six elected councillors \u2014 Mario Ottawa, Jean-Roch Ottawa, Patrice Ottawa, Paul-\u00c9mile Ottawa, Claudia Newashish and Ghislain Quitich \u2014 and commends the work of outgoing Chief Sipi Flamand.<\/p>\n<p>This election comes just days after a significant meeting between our two communities. The 1<sup>er<\/sup> Last August, LAKAY accompanied a group of 150 people from the Black community of Lanaudi\u00e8re and the greater Montreal area to Manawan. The day, which included welcoming them, discussions, a dinner to foster connections, and a drumming workshop, helped to forge genuine bonds between the Atikamekw Nation and the Afro-descendant communities.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u00abWe were received in Manawan with a generosity we will not forget.
